Re: 22 years old. Very Ill. Extreme Fatigue. Digestive Issues Etc. Need advice.
Oh, please try to work with your mom. She most likely really cares about you and wants you to be well.
The brain is one of the target organs of mercury. It is obvious that we who are heavy metal (HM) and mercury (Hg) toxic will have mood issues. It is just chemistry! There is no need to take it personally.
Many members of the large yahoo chelation groups are or once were on mood related medication. I was once on very low doses of two psych meds. After 1.75 yrs of chelation my doctor suggested that I no longer needed the last of my medications. He was right. Since then I've just been on appropriate supplements--minerals, vitamins, amino acids, fatty acids, etc.
It can be really rewarding to find a nice combo of supporting supplements while detox slowly does its job. There are some supplements that are commonly useful when Hg is involved.
A close female friend had been partially disabled by anxiety, PTSD, adrenal fatigue, some depression, mood swings, poor sleep, etc. When she saw my improbable gains she decided to consider detox.
She started by taking the supplements that would be reasonable to take for her symptoms when the symptoms are caused by Hg. They kicked in nicely. They did not resolve the problems but took the edge off of a number of them.
Then hormone balancing was really nice. She turned out to be deficient in the mother adrenal hormone, pregnenolone as well as cortisol. That might be less likely for you at your age, but many of the autistic kids get a boost from adrenal support in the form of adrenal *cortex* extract.
If the combo of supplements takes the edge off of your symptoms you may be able to reduce the dose of medications like I did. This will reduce the chances of unpleasant sfx from the meds.
This teen member of one of the Yahoo groups had to convince both his parents and a doctor friend of the family that Hg was a significant factor. He was successful! He has continued to get gains since the follwing post. He is full time in college this semester, but still has remaining struggles.

Be careful about just taking random "detox" supplements! The Yahoo Frequent Dose Chelation moderators worked so hard for many months to provide information to this 20-something young woman.

(Notice the symptoms below the test. They make her suicidal.)
She did some random things, including taking ALA just once per day and using cilantro. She fought with her mother about taking psych meds for years! I wish she had been more cooperative with her mother. She has now given up. From her recent emails to me she moved away from her young children and seems ready to die. It is so sad. I'm not sure it had to be this way.
Do your homework and get much improved : )
