Thanks...

First of all thank you for pointing out my need to correct the spelling of Dalai. I have taken care of that.

"Lapis, there is a qustion that one is encouraged to plumb
the depths of one's being to answer, and it takes humility to do so:"

Notice anything unusual in the above *giggle*
Sorry but it was funny:-)

Now............ (drum roll)

"What's your motivation?"

My motivation is to examine ALL things, even those sacred cows that many take for granted and even cause emotional responses (stirrings) within many of us, and hopefuly examine them unemotionally and unattached ;-) I do this as a process to gain coherency within and thus without. It's just information/experience.

"nothing but dross for the sentient reader...
so sad."

I wasn't aware that the "sentient reader club" had a spokes person, but if you are that spokes person, I guess you can make that call for your club ;-) (smile)

Is the reason for being so sensitive about this issue because of an attachement? I note you haven't addressed any of the issues raised, only made emotional remarks about the messenger. You seem to have identified with this one particular (outer) sacred cow who thus should escape any critique in your opinion? Do you share a resonance with this being? I think many do. Some resonate with the Pope. Some with Huckle berry Hound;-)(I have witnessed, others who are emotionally stirred because I critique leaders such as GW Bush, for example, which they have resonance with, or yogis with a history of sexual predation, etc). Does his (The Lama's) authenticity being questioned, stir something in you? I have never witnessed, until now, your getting upset with any other critiques of leaders or religious figures in this forum, something that is rather common place here. It was not/is not my intention to upset you or anyone else. I just posted a brief introduction which linked to information that may be explored. *optional*

Up until last week I held him (The Lama) in some regard too based on my own conditioning (by default wihtout deeper examination) I don 't intend to throw out the baby with the bath water either but it is interesting some of the things that are coming about within and without. As I began researching him (something inside me led me in that direction) I began to see some things that make me tend to believe he is less than authentic. I was simply sharing this in a forum that often shares religious and political incoherency. I am finding some interesting connections. Can you adress any of these previously mentioned connections? I understand exploration for some can be emotional, especially when something they are attached to comes under criticism. BTW, willingness to explore leads to freedom from attachments. It just requires openness. That is my definition of truth btw.

The post was not meant to start a debate (that begin at post 2) but only to share a link where information was contained for those who found it interesting.

Some buy into the Pope's act. Some buy into some of the christian leaders acts. Some buy into other religious and poltical manuvers. Seeing through these things can be liberating. This is what I speak to when I say that it may be good for people to take their power back and not attach to things outside themselves, including propped up religious icons.

"You have faliled to grasp even a portion of the Dalai Lama's motivation."

:-) You may have that same nasty spelling bug I caught. MH any herbs for that?

I grasp what I observe such as engagements with the Bush's, meetings with the Pope, CIA payrol, A feudal system he was sitting atop of, access to a mainstream media with an agenda, etc as well as many other things that I have seen critiqued. (newage ostrichism tends to hide these things away, under the guise of "love and light").

"this post of yours is a gratuitous use of mh's space, and does not lead to Love...that much is clear, or to liberation, despite your talk about taking back one's power"

You seem to have a very set design on the notion of love. Could you please share it?

"Truth is a little bigger than CIA, NWO or 'taking back one's power' and 'being unique' and free to experience fully."

*The* truth...your truth, my truth, his truth, her truth? What is *THE* truth.

Where do you get YOUR truth from?

"It saddens me, but really, it belittles you."

Your reality; your experience; your choice ;-)

It may be good to explore why you are so emotional over this (why such a charge on it). It may lead somewhere interesting.

"you prove you grasp little of the essence of the levels of Mind..."

;-)
