Re: Based on my circumstances, how long should it take until I'm cured?
hey, NYCkid (put some clothes on!)
Candida is just too complex for any one single solution, nor cause: at least IMHO. I don't know how much of the big picture I understand but, have climbed down numerous rabbit holes along my seeking and, have made plenty of mistakes. So much is counter intuitive it's mind bogging anyone can understand it all. I KNOW I DON"T. And, if it wasn't for sharing with others such as you and Anthony and, everyone else here while taking the time to research what everyone was talking about even if it didn't seem to fit my situation so many doors of thought would have been completely lost on me. I thank you all: that's one reason why I try to pay forward (hope I help at some level).
Take a list of candida symptoms. Ever wonder why so many of them parallel other related conditions like adrenal fatigue, hypothyroid, SIBO, diabetes? Perhaps they aren't symptoms of candida per say but, possibly the underlying body systems which are effected allowing CRC to become an issue?
Ever wonder why treating many of these underlying conditions parallels candida treatment? Perhaps treating the underlying conditions is what eventually allows the body to get candida under control? Dunno but, do notice many similarities which I'm trying to piece together.
One of the major vehicles of any candida treatment is probiotics: including kifer, sauerkraut, yogurt, etc. One reason is how they all make acids and thus, lower the pH within the GI tract which helps keep within candida at natural levels and helps with stabilizing body pH. Candida LOVES alkaline environments so without high levels of good bacteria making the intestines more acidic and synthesizing certain vits what good is a clean liver going to do about dealing with the GI environment? Just asking, don't have the answer.
My journey has been filled with very expensive and high caliber specialists and numerous mis-dx's. Many thought I had to have been doing something wrong for their dx/treatment to not have had a positive impact. I racked it up to egos. Now, as I have learned so much about CRC many of these mis dx's now make sense: though they were still mis-dx's. In one case I was put on steroids - got much sicker. In another case I was put on a heavy abx cocktail for over 6 months and again, I got so much sicker. They both seemed reasonable at the time based on what I knew and what they were telling me but, in hindsight they both rushed to a dx/treatment which they were familiar with and didn't take the time to think outside the box. I'm sure you can relate to how steroids/abx added to my suffering. In the case of the abx's, the test proving their dx/abx is known to give false positives from mycotoxins: though I didn't learn that fact till 8 years later. Go figure.
I'm glad you are feeling 99% better, NYCkid. More power to you for doing whatever it is that you did and so sorry you crashed along the way. Sorry about the yankees - GO SF!!
PS - perhaps 'cured' is really a form of remission?
