I have used both the Cutler Protocol and cilantro/chlorella to chelate. Cilantro was more effective but also gave me more side effects while chelating. It's especially important not to push yourself too hard with cilantro. Cutler was gentler but slower. They were both helpful to me.
At first my reactions to chelating were somewhat severe, but, as I continued, they became less and less.
It took 6 months of chelating with cilantro/chlorella before I felt obvious improvement. My friend took a couple of months longer with Cutler. I think it varies a lot from person to person based on how much metal you have in your system and how effectively your body gets rid of it.
I mostly chelated while drinking lots of water, visiting a sauna regularly and taking a multivitamin to support my efforts (as well as helping to make up for vitamins I wasn't necessarily getting from a strict anti-yeast diet).
