Re: Recurring Bartholin's cyst/abscess

Ok I had my cyst for almost two months. It kept getting bigger. It wasn't painful, just annoying. Plus this thing is killing my sex life! Well I went out on a limb and decided to try the calamine, tea tree oil, witch hazel treatment! I did it right before bed, leaving it directly on the lump for 30 mins. It set me on fire! It burned like crazy. So I immediately did a sitz bath. Still stinging like the dickens. Next morning no change. It was still about the same size and relatively sore, all the skin was red! I was angry with myself for making it worse. About 3 hours later I started feeling a lot of discomfort! The entire right side was swollen. It was sore to the touch, red, with a lot of heat emanating. I knew I had made it worse. I swore to call my doc the next morning, made at myself for aggravating it. Well the next morning it had gone down some. It was strange I didn't feel the lump in its usually spot like before. But the whole side was very angry at me it seemed. I made an app with my gyno anyway to have it lanced. 4 hours later at the doc office. He said he couldn't drain it b it was draining on its own. It was irritated yes but draining. Amazing after 2 months this bugger was finally draining. And now 2 days later.. No Antibiotics , just sitz baths.. It's almost completely back to normal. The soreness is nearly gone, and tho I still feel some swollen tissue, no lump. So if anyone is desperate enough to try this remedy be prepared to suffer some pain. It does burn like hell! But it seems to promote drainage idk. But I thought it would help to share my experience with it. Idk of I'll try it again or not, it burned! Tweet
