i do use that brand of 'soy sauce' however i have a different opinion about the msg contained within it. there is a big difference between free amino acids and naturally occuring chains, being that when a free amino acid is introduced there is no 'checks and balances' process that occurs and it just shoots straight in and reacts with whatever gets in its way.
as far as protein supplementation goes, i prefer to use hempseed and whey powder, sometimes together and sometimes seperately. also ive found that whey powder goes great with homemade tapioca (i make a soup rather than a pudding) but most people really love to add sweetener to their tapioca. from what i understand about complex starches vs simple sugars is that your body does break down the starches directly into sugar, however in that process for every 2
Sugar molecules that are broken off, there is a pure water molecule that is created at the same time, which im sure we can appreciate it as making all the difference.
and honey is simply amazing, i know that scientists understand so little about honey the product, but even less about all the benefits it provides. i have heard something about the arrangement of the sugars in honey being 'inverted' but i have no clue what that really means in chemistry. i have heard that the inverted sugars are so special to your body and cannot, with our current know-how, be replicated. just to repeat what many already know, be sure to get your honey from a local beekeeper, preferably in an area outside of the city with good quality air. you will spend less, and get higher quality at the same time.
i have always thought the Vega products looked to be very high quality but also way too high priced for my budget. so i usually go for a vacuum packed 30oz bag of hemp protein made by Nutiva and add my own herbs and food ingredients along with it. whey 'spikes' protein levels in the blood but i find when mixed with the hempseed it works better for me, and to add some other nutritious herbs such as lemon balm, yerba mate, cinnamon, etc... i can add quality supplements to my diet everyday without spending too much. i will admit most people cant ingest the things i create, but i did a lot of unpleasant stuff to make myself sick, so i have no problem doing unpleasant stuff to make myself better.
my children really enjoy a honey and apple cider vinegar mixture, and they are very picky eaters. i know it doesnt work for everyone, but if my creation doesnt turn out the best i just choke it down and try to make a better one tomorrow.
