Re: Daily Calories

Food quality is so, so important. Food quantity doesn't matter so much if the quality is right.

Aim to get your proteins from mainly meats, egg whites and seafood.

Aim to get your carbohydrates from mainly watery, fibrous, low Sugar fruit and vegetables.

Get your fats from nuts, seeds, cuts of meat and some oils.

If you can eat lots of the above, and not feel hungry or crave the processed starchy junk that is thrown in your face day in day out, you will lead a happier, healthier and more lean life.

Balance is the key! 1/3 of each on your plate and you are doing well.

I originally put on weight doing higher fat, as I was using oils and butter more frequently - the calorie intake was increasing far more than I realised.

I now fill up on lots and lots of fruit and veg, a decent slab of meat and some good fats at each meal.
