Re: So sore even after an easy workout! Anyone else?
I had the same exact experience for years while having candida/metal problems. I remember one time in particular, I did a few sets of body squats (i.e., just using body weight) and my legs were so sore the next few days, it felt like I had squatted 500lbs. Not to mention, the extreme soreness lasted for like a week afterward.
Rewind just 5-6 years earlier, I used to work out with very heavy weights all the time and be just 'pleasantly' sore for the next two days.
A related issue I had (and still kind of have) is getting sunburnt too easily--a problem that I never, ever had before I got sick.
In retrospect, I think it is all inflammation, which has to do with the body being overwhelmed by free radicals. When we are in a toxic state due to candida (or whatever is causing the candida, e.g., metal poisoning), I think our glutathione and other antioxidants get drained, resulting in all sorts of inflammation and inability to rebuild damaged tissue, muscle, etc. Some supplements I would recommend to try are large doses of vitamin C to help address free radicals (I am currently taking about 10g/day and am feeling very good), Silymarin (Milk Thistle) by Now Foods (the one combined with Turmeric), and NAC to build up glutathione (along with the vit C). Bromelain is also very good for addressing inflammation.
I have also noticed more energy since I started taking a Maca root supplement. In fact, I only need about 7hrs sleep/night now, whereas I used to need at least 8.5 - 9.
