Re: I'm 80% sure that I don't smell anymore
"Yeah I'm still going to be staying on the boards because I'm not cured yet and it's the least I can do for people who have to deal the same shit I had to deal with day-in and day-out."
Good for you and all of us too.
"I also heard about pepto-bismol being able to reduce the fecal smell because of the bismol that it is in it. But, I think that activated charcoal would be a better alternative because it detoxes your body instead of it just neutralizing the fecal smell."
Yeah you are right on that account (the detox). I have tried both bismol and charcoal and noticed no difference before. Yeah, you are right about this not "being a cure" really but a way to manage it. I think of it like being a heart patient or diabetic, there are certain foods they can't eat either....I just can't eat certain things anymore because it will bring back horrible IBS symptoms AND FBO.
"One more thing before I go, You say you're doing the same diet as me right? What common foods do you eat on the fodmap diet? Also what is your opinion on the safest foods to eat?"
Yes very strict FODMAPS. I haven't started anything back in yet because a few times I went off the diet, I paid for it for a few days. I eat mainly white meat like you, rice, seaweed (I checked it's ok to have), squash, spinach, salads, other veggies allowed, etc. I don't eat some of the foods you eat:
oatmeal (gluten?), toast (depends on what kind rice bread?), kale and cabbage are not good. Nor is apple. I will re-post a post from another board I lurk at that gives a complete list of FODMAPS foods for everyone to understand. I did not write it, the credits are at the bottom. This is the most updated list I can find.
