Re: Thoughts & questions and a BIG "heads up"! Re: thanks Willow and Water
Uny we dont the bacteria as of yet ..thats what we are waiting on - the results of the culture .
is it too late to start writing stuff down ? cause I havent as of yet and I cannot remember who said what at this point cause there have been so many people in and out since then .
the hospital bill will likely be outrageous too ..we only had major med accident insurance that his mom got us and not really sure how much it is gonna cover right now
went home yesterday to run some errands and checked the mail ..and lo and behold we already had a bill from UT for 8700 bucks and another one for 180 and I know thats not the end of em by far
they told us not to put anything antibacterial on it when they sent us home with instructions for him to take a shower daily after 48 hours ( which he did) and notes only said return is redness or draining pus ,which it was already red and although it never drained pus (just clear and blood) it looked awful and deteriorated every day after they sent us home ..
good thing is he is isnt running a fever and there are no red streaks down his leg indicating staff infection
the
Antibiotic they have him on now is Cipro ..they changed that yesterday ..still dont know what kind of bacteria it is as of yet but maybe doc will come in today and let us know something
-----------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE -- DOC CAME IN -said he is on the right
Antibiotic for the kind of bacteria ..which they didnt say what kind but she did say that it wasnt a common ,common bacteria but it wasnt rare either and that cipro would take care of it ...they did mention sending him home today if he can tolerate the dressing changes without a morphine shot ,which they will be in here in a few minutes for that .well they just came in to give him his pain meds to let them kick in first so it will be after that ..
-----------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE !!
nope he cant do it - so will be here until he can but its has healed up by 1cm in 2 days so that is good ..by the way they are wet packing him ...wetting the gauze and pushing it down into the wound then covering with a dry bandage ,then wrapping it up around his leg that e = major pain
told doc about getting him on juices when we get back and she said to add plenty of protein /meats to help his tissue heal and come back , go figure .. I says superfood ! what does u say?
i have pic and video on my digital camera but no way of getting it put on the puter without cord right now
thanks Uny
