There is also research that says if you have an autoimmune thyroid desease, you will just make the thyroid "mad" if you tease it with a small dose of iodine. Maybe that is why they say that it is bad as they are not seeing the whole picture. This is explained as the thyroid gets really excited to see more Iodine (because it is in need of more) and wants more so it gets overly happy to try to absorb more. I don't know about all these other people who say less is better however you will have to do what feels right to you. I do however fully believe Iodine in large amounts are not bad and very benificial.
