Mick,

You are on the right track but you'll need WAY more Iodine than what is in a multi. I'd recommend iodoral, but there has been a run on it since the Japan nuclear accident. However, a quick check at Swanson's Vitamins has Lugols Iodine still available. You can go slow with one drop or take 25-50mg right from the start. If you can't tolerate the taste of all that Iodine in water, get some empty gel caps and put the Lugols in them and then take them. Don't let them set long, the iodine and water will soften the capsules pretty quickly. I would also add some L-Tyrosine as it helps the thyroid convert the iodine to the thyroid hormone.
