Re: Supplements that feed candida
Pantethine and molybdenum have been life savers for me. After five days of reduced doses and two days off of them, I had clearly deteriorated. The day I started taking them again, all the nasty symptoms subsided.
For someone like me, who's been on steroid meds and basically sick all of his life, it's become clear that my fight with candida will be a long-term one. Nonetheless, I have it under control now, thanks to pante/molyb and the addition of natural antifungals into my diet (coconut oil, garlic, onions, pau d'arco, etc.)
Iodine as well, most likely.
That said, I should have added earlier that it may be unwise to purposely exclude the supplements and foods listed in this thread. Many of them have benefits which far outweigh the negatives. For example, NAC aids the liver in detoxification and the production of glutathione. Taking it with food has, I theorize, prevented it from being absorbed directly by the candida in the small intestine. So I've been taking it this way for several weeks without ill effects and it has helped my breathing significantly. Furthermore, you need your vegetables. You need their minerals and nutrients, hands down, to fight the candida and bolster your immune system.
Anyway, experiment and always listen to your body!
