Strength doesn't matter. Adjust the number of drops instead. Each drop 5% = 6.25 mg iodine/iodide. Each drop 2% = 2.5 mg iodine/iodide. 50 mg iodine/iodide = 8 drops 5% or 20 drops 2%.
