Re: Hi Wombat and others-investigating iodine therapy for cysts & nodules

Hi wow that's great info. Tx so very much! Most of those symptoms are me! So scary that all i along all my constant and worsening symptoms could have been due to a simple thing like lack of iodine. I've always had problems with my bowels so suspected something wrong there and then PCOS which i always suspected was simply a reaction or set of symptoms of some hidden problem, not a phenomena on it's own cause it just didn't make sense.

Anyway, I'm from Australia, so wondering if over here, there is statistical data showing we as a nation also have big problem with Iodine deficiency as in the USA? Most data i see is just for the USA.

Funny thing is when i traveled extensively for a year, about three years ago,my health dramatically improved, but on returning here all of a sudden it began to get worse with all symptoms and MORE! returning. I've noticed in my travels that countries that are becoming "developed" are beginning to get same first world nation diseases like diabetes, thyroid and auto immune problems, coincidence? don't think so. Most indigenous cultures who have access to good quantities of food direct from the source weren't showing any of the signs but the new "city" dwellers were.

Ok, now back to me, sorry to be selfish but i have to get a move on the protocol as i am going overseas to live and not sure i will make it to get myself organised and bring all the necessary nutrients etc. I'll be living in a third world nation, so getting some of the supplies might be difficult. Except my diet will probably improve as most foods there are much more direct from the source and plenty of kelp based foods i am told.

Anyway, a couple of questions, as i won;t be able to experiment with products overseas.

1. IS Lugol's better or recommended over detoxified iodine?
(confused by what i've read)

2. B3 and B2 - what about Bee Pollen, i' ve been taking this for my adrenals - can i continue taking this instead of just B2 and B3?

3. And how will i know when to stop, will be hard to get myself tested when i am overseas.

4. Also, I am currently taking licorice root for adrenals - is it safe to continue taking this, as i've heard it increases estrogen levels (but I'm low on estrogen anyway).

5. I'm also taking Vitex and Wild Yam for my lack of hormones. Is this ok to mix with high doses of iodine?

Finally, how do i exactly increase dosage? i've read 12.5mg to start, but by how much from then on? And how long do i hold it.

There might be a few more questions as i go on but these are my most pressing ones at the moment.

THANK YOU SOOOOOO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR ENTHUSIASM IN WANTING TO HELP, NEVER SEEN IT IN ANY OTHER FORUM. AND THANKS TO THAT ANONYMOUS PERSON THAT EMAILED ME TO TELL ME TO CHECK YOU GUYS OUT! I've helped others diagnose adrenal fatigue and they were so grateful and i am that grateful to you guys now, i know what it's like when someone takes their time out to help you recover, cause there's nothing more beautiful than seeing someone get better. It's a gift to humanity. I'm honoured thank you!
