Read what I wrote below in response to Trick's post. It's just that body follows mind (amygdala), and mind (not that evolved) forgets to turn off body's alarm system, then body and mind hold hands and skip down the street only to get beaten senseless by a team of muggers.

I think you'd want a shrink to do CBT. It doesn't cost more than a normal shrink visit, I don't think. It's just specialized. Normal shrinks are a bunch of quacks, their field of expertise is so broad and diluted that, if you have half a brain and know some of what's wrong with you, you say that to them, and they just nod and go, "hmmmm, yup, I think you're onto it..."

Meanwhile they're thinking about having a ham sandwich or buying a new pair of khakis or something.
