Re: What went wrong - Iodine/Heart

1) I agree, your armpit temps are high. "Normal" is 37C oral, and not first thing in the morning. I encourage you to resist labelling yourself hyperthyroid or hypothyroid, and instead ask, What is my body telling me? In your list of supplements are zinc, magnesium, and B6. You might need copper to balance the zinc, Zn:Cu 15-8:1. If you take 30 mg, consider 2 mg copper. Zinc can heat up your thyroid, and copper can cool it down. With magnesium, consider that you may need some calcium to balance. Some people don't need extra calcium, but I do. Possible ratios can be Ca:Mg 1:2, 1:1, or 2:1. My heart rhythm is sensitive to balances of Ca:Mg, and K:Na. For instance, a fast, pounding heartbeat might need more Mg, less Ca, or less K. In my case, I've set my daily Mg at 500 mg, and adjust Ca. As I use salt to help weak adrenal function, I also increase high-K foods such as dried apricots. These are only examples -- you're different from me.

Excellent reading material. The links on the site don't work reliably, so here are some of the pages --

2) Alzheimer's can have many sources, heavy metals for sure, also methylation problems. BUT, "Alzheimer's" can also be an umbrella term for many dementias. My mother-in-law died with two dementias. She may have also had Alzheimer's, but for sure she had B12 & B1 (thiamin) deficiencies. B12 is easily countered with increasing methylcobalamin as you age. Thiamin-dependency needs high amounts throughout life, before the brain damage occurs.

3) If you're going to use single vit B's, such as B6, get a base amount of at least 50 mg B complex as well. It will help prevent deficiencies caused by too much of only one of them.

4) You are young. You are giving yourself a huge benefit by beginning now. As you age, you will be making adjustments to accommodate life changes. But find your base now. Don't get too fancy; be solid with basics. Best wishes!
