What went wrong - Iodine/Heart
I'm 21, Male.
Okay so I started
Iodine supplementation during the Summer last year as a part of a natural anti-hair loss regimen. One of the symptoms of my hair loss was an inflamed, itchy scalp in the thinning areas. I had been suffering this for about 3 years. So I start
Iodine (Iosol) at 3 drops a day. The first 2 days are great. My mood and energy levels had a great boost, my inflammation and hair loss was also cut in half during those 2 days (Incredible). On the third day my neck began to ache, but I ignored it believing it was detox symptoms. Over the next few days I became increasingly emotional. Then things took a turn for the worse. I started having extremely uncomfortable heart feelings. I had a hard time getting to sleep and I had to keep tapping my chest. My heart felt like it was beating irregularly and I almost fainted several times, I had a bruised felling in the center of my chest. It was extremely traumatic and led me to drop
Iodine altogether. I salt loaded and took Selenium. These didn't make a difference and I haven't taken Iodine since but haven't fully recovered from the heart problems. I recently had a few episodes where I couldn't sleep.
I've attempted to smoke marijuana twice since then and this accentuated the heart problems so I have to stay away from that as well. What can I gather from this?. Can Iodine raise Anxiety?.
I know you guys don't believe Iodine causes Hyperthyroidism, but it seems that I have all the hyperthyroid symptoms. I rather Cold than Hot, Palpitations etc. Although I definetly haven't lost weight.
So what went wrong here?.
- Is there any chance that the heavy metals Iodine released led to heart problems?
- I haven't seen any one suffer the same problems as me from Iodine, so I can't blame in on Bromide..
- Can Iodine mess with your mineral levels (Potassium, Magnesium etc)?
Here's another weird symptom that you guys might remember me posting during the Summer. At about I think a week in, I felt a small hump on the back along the spine. Touch your chin with your chest and feel the hump that protrudes the most on the back of your neck. That had swollen and led me to go to the doctor. I don't know what caused it to swell. Heavy Metals? I haven't a clue. What could it be?
So guys I want to replicate the first 2 days of my previous Iodine attempt (Energy/Great Mood/Less Hair Loss). I need to find out what went wrong so it doesn't happen again... Please..
I think the clues are in the swelling on the spine and heart problems. Mineral imbalances? Heavy Metals? Iodine-Induced Hyperthyroidism?
Thanks..
