Re: I broke my Water Fast.

You were probably getting weak and irritable, because your body was just starting to get rid of some impurities in your body.

It is not easy water fasting, as it can be very trying on the body. From past fasting experience, I have taking showers, taken naps, did body brushing (brushing of the skin) to help overcome the weakness and irritablity that I sometimes face while fasting.

Remember Water Fasting is not just a physcial thing, but a mental thing as well, so you will face emotional/mental cleasing, as well as the physical. It is hard to explain, but when you water fast, you also face pent up and hidden emotions you never knew you had. Look at it like this, the irritable mood you were in was just a stage to cleaning out some of your emotions. Believe me, the longer your fast, the emotions get better and better. When I did my really long fast, I was so happy that it was almost sickening to others. I had purged not only physical impurities, but all negative emotions as well. It was really enlightening.

The longest I fasted was 55 days ( I did during the Lenten Season, and just fasted a bit longer then Easter),which I think was very close to a completion fast, but I didn't wait to feel the true hunger. I did that about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was very enlightening for me and it changed my life. Currently, I am on day 5 of my water fast. I hope to fast until it is complete, so I can start a fresh and new life.

:o)
