How do you think that reducing pollution and emissions will effect our economy adversely?

I can see where our economical base will change, from one based on burning fossil fuels, to one based on renewable energy sources. There will be industries that will decline, such as coal mining and oil production, but new industries will grow based providing and building renewable energy sources.

We can look at saving jobs and profits for a few industries, to allow them to keep polluting, or we can take a pragmatic approach and encourage these industries to find alternatives.

The coal and oil industries are reliant on finite resources, so will decline anyway, as these resources run out.
