Re: Explanation

What silly nonsense. There were no 'death threats' made, and such a histrionic remark is entirely typical of someone daft enough to take 'Jasmuheen' seriously.
I was indeed personally responsible for closing Jasmuheen's website down in 2005, or at least, the forums wherein she attempted to promulgate the idea that food and water aren't neccesary to sustain life. 'Jasmuheen' is actually Ellen Greve, an ex-financial counsellor who's husband spent time in jail for fraud. Through her website, she maintained outrageous falsehoods to sustain her income. These included claims that; she had personally spoken to world leaders about her 'plan' to convert the world's poor to "breathairianism", that she has manipulated her own DNA into a 12 stranded molecule "to absorb more hydrogen", and that she holds regular seances attended by 18th century mystics and other assorted historical personalities that she calls "ascended masters". Along with her many self-published e-books - which are nothing more than cliched self-commentary interspersed with plagiarized theological text - Ellen also advertizes a series of amateurish 'spiritual' self-portraits, bathed in psychadelic light and trying to pass herself off as a madonna-like figure. The results are invariably laughable, looking like a child's attempt at a fairy princess from Dungeons & Dragons.
But despite her obvious, crass, almost pitiable narcissism, Ellen is really no laughing matter. She currently tours the globe peddling her mystical nonsense, hitching a ride on the back of an international menagerie of New-Age Charlatans that rake a living from ticket sales to the idealistic and the gullible. Some amongst her audience are sufficiently vulnerable or desperate to take her at her word, beleiving her claim that they can emulate her diet of 'pranic nourishment', and people have indeed died as a direct result.
Ultimately, in my opinion, in an increasingly secular and materialistic world, there will always be people who feel unable to compete in it. Some of these unfortunates want to hide by 'rediscovering' the wonder and innocence they lost with childhood, conveniently forgetting that life does that in order to make self-sufficient, rational adults out of us. It's these people; the lonely, the uneducated, the misguided and the mentally unwell, who need to be protected from the amoral peddlars of such stupid and dangerous lies, like Ellen Greves's.
