Yes you can, going to a Lawyer for anything, is in fact declaring your self an imbecile.
You and your wife, sit down and write out your agreement, if you both agree, find a Notary *one that is not a member of the bar) and have him sign it.
What that is in fact doing, is making that document an affidavit of sworn oath.
Then take that to the Registrar General (Canada) or the EQ in the USA.
Done Deal.
Remember, Lawyers are Scammers, and everything in a courtroom is a trick, even the words they use are tricky or have their own meaning, IE. PERSON = Legal Entity. (Not you or me as you may think, in fact if you declare yourself a none Person, Courts can do very little to you.
