While all the points shared are valid,
the issue at hand is potentially a
deal-breaker on many levels. There
are indications too that there are
dark sinister efforts behind the
growing scope of this disaster~~

One can only hope that if there is
a way to shift the political balance
of power, we could potentially begin
the process of "empowering" ourselves,
especially in lieu of the new awareness
of the dangers petroleum dependency and
the interests that nurture and protect
it can entail.

There have been many efforts in the past
to escape the grip of dependency on oil
and yet our system does not encourage
anything but. The problem is not the
will of the people but the hunger for
power by the people who care little whose
side they are on, or who gets hurt in
their grab to gain and retain power over
resources and assets...
