Re: which came first, the allergies or the disease? (edited)

Andreas Moritz (of the defunct forum here) theorizes, and I think there's an Ayurvedic lineage behind him, that a big problem with meat is the foreign dna, and that the "strong" alive feeling people talk about with meat-eating is a form of immune respoinse being mounted by the body, to stop the invading dna.

There is a big flaw in his hypothesis. Plants also have proteins and foreign DNA. The body is not really going to differentiate between the animal DNA and plant DNA. And some things we eat such  as some algaes and phytoplankton actually have both animal and plant characteristics and yet we consider these healthy, not harmful with the exception of some phytoplankton.

I have addressed some of Moritz' other claims on here previously. We definitely have opposing views.

But the fact is that the gut is not permeable to intact proteins after the age of two except in rare conditions like leaky gut.

Might this also lead to adrenal exhaustion?

If there is a condition is which the intact proteins are allowed to enter the bloodstream then they would act as antigens leading to immune responses that could tax the adrenals. But this is very uncommon.
