Very good point Hv, If I ever get these little red lumps again, I will do exactly that, (lol, I had forgotten that little chemistry experiment).

I wasn't taking any Iodine during the time I was swimming in the chlorinated pool, so its back to the lab on that one. :)

Bromine excretion through the skin is IMO a plausable theory, but it needs testing, as the variables are many. Too many to get reliable results from anecdotal evidence.

Thanks for your considered reply, I'm going to talk to some friends of mine about doing a little testing in their lab, as I would like some answers on this, but as usual, with most scientific theory, you end up just getting more questions.
