Combining "thyroid hormones" with iodine - my experience
Just finished reading Dr. Mark Starr's _Hypothyroidism Type II_, so I added back the only type of "thyroid hormone" I have - Standard Process Thytrophin in very, very small doses - 1/4 to 1/2 a tab, and then not even everyday. Used it long before Iodine, with adrenal hormones, but eventually suffered from really bad insomnia, so had to stop - may have made me hyperthyroid. Then discovered
Iodine and did that without the hormones for many months to almost two years. Do feel better taking both, just trying to figure out the balance. Now I know what the thyroid hormones are supposed to be doing, but Thytrophin is considered different from the others on the market, no prescription really necessary - got mine through a chiro. Don't think it is freeze dried like the Armour, Erfa and others. And it has had the thyroxin removed. I think Dr. Starr recommends a combination of both
Iodine and thyroid hormones, but he prefers the other dessicated thyroids like Armour. If I have antibodies, the "thyroid hormone" may be distracting these antibodies from attacking my thyroid, almost like a decoy. But taking just the Thytrophin for almost a year did not really help with my brain fog and other symptoms like
Iodine has.
