Re: Pau Darco
Especially concerning is:
"Infections, especially sinus and other fungal infections. Copper imbalance is also very much related to all fungal infections, in particular. These often include common sinus conditions that give few symptoms such as a stuffy nose or post-nasal drip in millions of people. Copper is also involved in acute and chronic candida albicans in the intestines and elsewhere.
Copper is critical for aerobic metabolism, so a copper imbalances allows fungal organisms to thrive in the body and must be corrected to reduce these infections, in most cases. This is why some people simply cannot get rid of candida albicans or chronic yeast, parasitic infections, sinus infections and others."
Copper kills Candida and other yeasts/fungi. But I don't think this has anything to do with aerobic metabolism. Candida for example will still use anaerobic metabolism regardless of whether oxygen is present. So increased oxygen availability due to the copper should make no difference. Same applies to where they mentioned using copper in pools. There is no hemoglobin to increase oxygen levels, so it has to be killing fungi through a different mechanism.
Also of interest is the fact that zinc, which antagonizes copper, also kills Candida.
Also keep in mind that there are other things in the body that control Candida such as the acids produced by the flora. Therefore a person should be able to get Candida under control despite copper levels. The biggest mistakes I see people making are their trying to kill the Candida instead of controlling it like the body normally does, and people trying to alkalinize, which just promotes Candida overgrowth and virulence.
