you misjudge me, my friend. before my kidneys failed i was a successful tai chi and qigong teacher with many students and i was very much into the alternative lifestyle you refer to. i have received my masters in reiki and have also helped many with the techniques i taught of meditation and energy healing. i am on this site because i know that many will place their confidence in the aletrnative path completely and ignore the advice of doctors. this can be fatal, as i have seen many die, believing that their faith will heal them, whether that faith is in a supreme being or in their practice of alternative healing, they are mistaken.
the fact is, we all die, sooner or later, and the term 'healing' can have different connotations for different people.
i see the alternative methods as being psychologically healing, indeed, but to heal the body there is much more that we need to honor.
