Re: Wanted to say HI!
Hi!
A couple years ago, I tutored a girl who had missed a lot of school because she had unexplained stomach pains, they took her gallbladder out and did several things and she was still having the pains afterwards. I wish I had known as much then as I do now, I would have directed her to the candida and bowel cleansing boards. First and foremost, has your daughter been on
Antibiotics or Steroids? Does she drink a lot of caffeinated drinks? Does she eat a diet high in carbohydrates such as white flour,
Sugar and basically anything that is canned, boxed, or frozen that is not vegetable? I would say that even if you answered yes to only one of these questions the problem very well could be excessive yeast overgrowth in her gastrointestinal tract. Yeast rises and isn't it possible that she has an inflammation or swelling in her stomach that could be causing the discomfort? Dr's will not recognized yeast can live anywhere in the body besides the vagina and colon, but it can. There are many people who are proof of this fact on the candida board.
I think that it is great that you are starting her out so early in life with this new healthier lifestyle, I would just suggest a couple of things you could do for both of you that might help speed the progress to better health. When you do the P&B shakes try adding a natural anti-fungal to it. I like to add liquid capryilic acid gel caps from bioactive nutrients (I cut them open and squeeze em into the shake). I feel the difference when I do this Vs just plain p&b shakes. Another thing I have just started mixing in is UGN from bioactive nutrients, it is Undecylenic Acid, Grapefruit Seed Extract and Neem. Below is an explanation from bioactivenutrients.com
Undecylenic Acid
Proven to inhibit yeast and mold and is effective at maintaining a healthy balance of intestinal and vaginal flora. It occurs naturally in the body and is produced by vacuum distillation of castor bean oil.
Grapefruit Seed Extract
Used for centuries to ward off infections and keep yeast and fungus under control. It is completely safe and has no known side-effects.
Neem
Used for nearly 4500 years. It is one of the most powerful blood-purifiers and detoxifiers known. Uses of Neem to help fight human ail
I do not work for this company, I do not sell the product and I have nothing to gain by telling you this, other than hopefully helping you in your quest for better health. I know that I am seeing a difference with this product for sure, I have passed more plaque this week than I have in the past and I have been doing the p&b shakes for nearly three months (only 1 to 2 a day, I just haven't been able to fit more into my day, I'm on the run a lot(no pun intended here, LOL)).
I have a cold working on me at the moment so I have also been taking Olive Leaf Extract fairly faithfully every 4 hours (it works just like a cold remedy it makes the symptoms subside and then when I feel them coming back I know it is time to take more). I learned why it works this way, it boosts the immune system in fighting virus, bacteria and fungus. So I am giving my fungus a double whammy!!!!! Wahoo!
Some other things I have done with the p&b shakes and seen some results is mixing in raw apple cider vinegar (work up to 1 tbsp. it has to be from a health food store to have all the "properties" for health, search Bragg's apple cider vinegar and you'll find a full explanation). Anyway, the vinegar turns to malic acid in our bodies and inhibits the yeast growth. I know when I did the acv (abbreviation) I had a lot of sinus drainage, that is one of the symptoms of die off, I don't get the same symptom from every anti-fungal I use. Oregano Oil is another miracle anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial. You can put drops of it under your tongue or you can mix a few drops right into your p&b shake, makes for a very Italian tasting shakes :o). The only brand to buy is North American Herb and Spice Co. they have the true oregano and not just the imitation marjoram that other companies sell. I know that it is expensive, but it is worth every penny, when you feel a respiratory infection coming on if you start taking the Oregano oil or capsules right away you can nip the infection in the bud. Only reason I didn't grab it instead of the Olive Leaf is cause I was being a baby and wasn't wanting the burning under my tongue, LOL. I did use it last night before bed and when I woke up my cold was no worse than when I woke yesterday. Yeah!!!
Sorry for the book, I am just so excited about all this as last night I saw a very different result, I'm going to post about it after I finish up this message. I think that I am starting to kill the yeast off and I'm so excited, I know that it is and has been causing me problems in many ways.
Oh and about water, if you just realize how much better you will feel when you are drinking it instead of the other things you have been drinking you will begin to crave it. Try to make sure you are drinking good quality purified water, and drink it the way it tastes best to you i.e.: cold with ice, room temperature, warm etc. you will get beyond the sick feeling. Also, if you haven't got one, get a good water purifier, we have a water distiller from Sears and love it, though there is controversy on whether the water being devoid of minerals is bad for us. I think that it is better than drinking water full of chemicals that are carcinogenic like tap water is. If you can afford bottled water Dasani is the best I have tasted. Try adding some fresh squeezed lemon juice to your water, it makes it much more tolerable, esp. if you are out somewhere and have to drink tap water.
Wishing you the best on your quest to better health!!! :o)
P.S. If your teenager balks at the idea of taking the p&b shakes (as for some reason I could see a teen doing, :o) ) I would have her take the caprylic acid gel caps or whatever anti-fungal you want to try, without the shakes. I just have a feeling that an anti-fungal is going to make a difference in how she is feeling. And though I am no one to talk, she should clean up her diet as much as possible, if only adding plenty of fresh veggies daily and cutting back on
Sugar and processed flour products. There is a special anti-fungal diet, I have one from the Book the Yeast Syndrome By Dr. Trowbridge (hope I got that right) and I also have one from The Fungus Link by Doug Kauffman, I watch the latter's TV show "Your Health with Doug Kauffman" he is full of a wealth of information. You can find him on Family Net, Sky Angel and some independent stations. Ok, I'm done. :o)
P.S. Ok I lied :o). I just had one more thought concerning your daughter's stomach pain, I just read an excellent article here on curezone about microwaves and deep within the article they talked about a microwave diesease or syndrome that people can have, does she eat a lot of microwaved food? If you formula fed did you heat the bottles in the microwave? Just a thought. I am currently experimenting to see if it is possibly behind my eczema.
