Just to weigh in, if Candida is a culprit, the general recommendation is to have no more than one serving of fruit a day. Recommended fruits are berries in small quantities and granny smith (tart) apples.
The jury is out on citrus, as many claim lemons are a great antidote, while others say lemons, grapefruit, etc. create an alkaline environment that Candida thrives in. Apple cider vinegar is a treatment for Candida, and is alkaline, so the debate goes on. Yet another site says that Candida favors either alkaline or acidic states of natural balance, and that acidic stomachs create alkaline bowels. Interesting.
One important thing is not to mix fruit with other foods as it ferments while other food is being digested.
