Re: When you figure out that it is not working...
too much of anything can be bad for an individual... after 5 years
kidney stones can form in livestock fed alfalfa grass.
Does this mean one should not use it in their superfoods for a great length of time? Perhaps... one should be careful of the amount... like anything else.
Complete healing takes time... especially if one is dealing with years of illness.
One can alleviate symptoms, rather quickly (days, weeks), with foods. herbs, spices, mineral and/or vinegar baths, perhaps specific exercises, a good attitude, etc. If the quality of the foods is high, eventually (over a period of time dependent upon the body tissues needing repair) repair the damage...
In some cases, as in mine, it likely would take a long time... I only had 10% cartilage in my left knee and about 25% in my right 6 years ago. My knees would also buckle and go out on me.. not any more. One could argue against the protocol - and one could also find another way to accomplish the same thing if one worked on it, however, no one can argue with what works.
In cases like mine, one does not only have to arrest the degradation and degenerative processes, they also must establish, at some point, regenerative processes in order to improve, and during this process, alleviate any discomfort or pain as best one can in order to maintain the highest quality of life possible.
Given that there are 23+ known nutritional factors involved in cartilage regeneration/manufacture, not to mention the dozens of metabolic processes... manufacture (if necessary) and utilization of these factors... is it any wonder that conventional medicine stated that this cannot be done?
At some point, I MAY (depending upon my thoughts on exposure) revisit my knee surgeon and have him x-ray and/or MRI (even though I do not need this to prove it to myself) and post results... I am sure he will be profoundly impacted.
And while yes, there is always the potential for abuse with lime water, as there is with ANYTHING else, even water, individual responsibility and common sense must prevail.
This is where one tunes into their body and understands its needs innately from day to day.
Most people are so far away from being able to do this though it is frightening... that is a problem. In addition, many humans think in terms if a little is good, more is better, nothing could be further from the truth. Those who have understood and applied alkaline/acid balancing principles successfully, whether using lime water or not KNOW this - innately.
You yourself tout acids... you must know that they work by acting on the alkaline forces in the body... this is what it is all about.
Herbs work due to many factors. Each plant family, and varieties within those families having variations in their nutritional (medical) components... The Basil family being a very good source of chromium, astragalus being a good source of selenium, etc. These minerals being a huge part of the plants effectiveness in specific applications - and, the reason you do not want to over do it... one could become selenium poisoned with the use of too great a quantity of astragalus... and this is true with any mineral... acid, oxygen, water, etc.
Common sense, and responsible use is called for with ANYTHING.
Your ideas and MLs are not so much different. You just choose to go about them in different ways. You tend to choose and tout acids, and herbs, he is in favor of focusing on carbon bound alkaline minerals in small, consistent, steady doses... and they both work for the same reasons, one acting upon the other.
There are people who tend to deal with acidity very well... and these people, who can buffer them, likely would shy away from the ML protocol... this may be you and your experience... there are others who do not deal with acids well and need help... these folks may find healing with the ML protocol, or an intensive program of mineral rich, high quality foods , herbs and spices...
To each their own... we are all different... it is up to each individual to discover this for themselves in the absence of a health practitioner who believes in the alkaline/acid balancing (I like harmonizing better) principles.
Let it be...
