Re: Dry fasting
Indeed, Fonty was a huge fan of dry-fasting but he did post some warnings: dry-fasting is the most difficult and powerful detoxification possible.
It is not for the beginner/novice fasters.
Anyone attempting to do a dry fast needs to prepare for a few days on juice, then water-fasting for at least one day to be fully effective.
A novice dry faster may be lured/tempted by the promise of detoxification, spiritual enlightenment and a longer and healthier life, but dry fasting is something that is very risky and could lead to permanent damage, or even death, for the ignorant and inexperienced.
Dry-fasting can even be fatal for people who have certain illnesses or body conditions, like diabetes or heart-ailments.
Basically, dry fasting is abstaining from all food/fluids AND water for a set period of time, and usually for not less than 3 days.
It is the most rigorous and trying type of fasting there is, as it places the greatest stress on your body to absorb whatever nutrients and moisture it can from your body.
However, it is claimed to be the most efficient method for the body to purge/cleanse its accumulated waste/toxins.
For newcomers to dry fasting, the effects can be crippling: severe weight loss, hunger, thirst, fatigue, dizziness and an overall sense of weakness: these are just some effects that the novice dry faster will experience. However, for those of us who are experienced with fasting, our bodies do not suffer these typical symptoms. Instead, we feel a sense of heightened well-being and spirituality that comes about by the body purging its already much-reduced state of toxemia.
There is also the very real risk of dehydration for the inexperienced faster if set for too long a time period and who does not recognize a genuine demand for water.
It is also well-established that the demand and need for water on a water-only fast is minimal, and as long as the faster drinks water-only according to "genuine thirst", the outcome is virtually the same.
"Fasting animals take but little water and some of them none at all. For example, the Alaskan fur-seal bull takes no water throughout the whole of his four or five months fast. Hibernating and estivating animals do not drink water during their period of dormancy. It is the rule that sick animals (this is especially true of the acutely sick and seriously wounded animals) will not drink much water. I have repeatedly seen sick animals take no water at all for days at a time, or take but a few sips once or twice a day. For the most part, they refuse to drink large amounts of water".

WATER DRINKING DURING THE FAST..............
"Thirst is seldom great during a fast. I have watched fasters go for two and three days at a time and take no water, simply because there was no demand for water, and they have not suffered as a consequence. Others take but little water; sometimes not more than half a glass a day"..................
"Prof. Carlson says that "an adult man fasting can live fifteen to twenty days without water. If food is taken, death from water deprivation comes quicker. If there is body fever or great external heat leading to sweating, death from water deprivation is hastened. Foods require water for elimination of waste products."
