Composition of amalgam fillings

Amalgams are composed of 50% mercury like the other poster said.

http://www.smilesofbellevue.com/mercury-fillings.html

Composition of Amalgam:

50% Mercury
35% Silver
14% Tin
0.1% Zink
0.3% Copper

And like he said, if the mercury leached out, the filling would be 50% gone.

Scientific studies have shown that Amalgam not only leaks out YEARS after it's been placed, but it's also a significant amount.

----------

Is this amount of Mercury Significant?

The number one source of mercury in most people has been documented to be dental Amalgam fillings and most of the thousands of people with several mercury fillings who have been tested were found to have daily exposure levels exceeding Government safety guidelines.

Does Mercury Vapor Escape from Fillings?
