Re: Olivia Cohen (3rd 40 day fast - day 1) update
Hi Chris,
Yea, I definitely ramble a lot in all of the videos prior to editing. The first video before the fast took me two hours to record and only made 5 minutes of playing time! I was almost proud of this one because it only took 12 minutes of recording time to make a 10 minute video. Although I don't think anyone can argue that mental confusion and disorientation aren't side effects of any longer term fast. I can always think better after I've eaten for 40 days, than after I've fasted that same amount of time.
I'm not sure if my face looks emaciated or not. I, personally, don't think so, but I see myself in the mirror everyday, and so could be jaded. Although, when I see a picture of a person who's lost most of their overweight qualities, they always look too skinny to me, at first.
The baggy sweater is a religious thing. Tight clothes aren't considered modest. I'm actually considered a "liberal" because I don't wear a wig or scarf and let men see my hair - (Orthodox Jewish women who are married are required to only show their hair to their husbands.) We don't agree with that particular belief, but do try to be as modest as reasonable, for the most part.
Also, how long have you been studying fasting? Most here seem to have a high amount of admiration for your responses.
Thanks,
Olivia C.
