Re: Bruised Ego at Work
Your snipped quote:
[over six months of maternity leave]
-Welcome to the way of the world today! Women's libbers, equal rights, discrimination blah blah.
Vance is right, he's got the right idea, and forget about loyalty, honesty, integrity, being conscientious and all those other good moral standards and ethics as we knew them years ago and put up with it, just do your job, and the instant another, or better paying job comes your way, you're out of there, and don't forget to claim all your entitlements before you walk out that door for the last time either.
We need to learn from this generation and our corporate big wigs, self first, last, and everywhere in between, take and don't bother giving back, it's all about the almighty dollar, just go to work, do what you have to do (and no more, preferably less), take the money, and enjoy yourself before the reaper comes knocking on your door. I call it survival now-a-days, and keep your back to the wall as you will stand a better chance of seeing who will try and stick the knife in your back.
Yep, you're right, I miss the good old days! But I'm confident they will return, when everything eventually starts to collapse due to technology, greed etc etc, it just won't happen in my lifetime probably that's all. Now would be a good time with the economic situation as it is though.
Jeez, I sound like a grumpy old man don't I! I guess you shouldn't have opened the door to let me in :)
Cheerio.
