Nutritionally Excellent eating plan seems to be working for weight loss
It seems as if I was making mistakes at the start of this new lifetime plan.
The first was the "supermarket error". I bought far too much and perhaps some of the wrong stuff, but I did not want to waste it so I ate it.
Second mistake was snacking between meals. I now understand all about the need to "fast" between meals so stopped that.
My third mistake was lack of knowledge of beans and certain fruit and vegetables, where to buy them and how to cook them properly. I am learning on that one, but now know enough to get by. Just. I am not sure about the soups I was making either, I think that was more EFH than ETL, so later perhaps.
Despite all that, my weight went up slightly then started dropping when I began to do it properly. Yesterday's breakfast was a fruit and salad, and lunch was beans, green veg and a couple of chestnut mushrooms, pictured below:
and my weight chart now looks like this (well, as you see it today, this is a live image):
My Weight Chart:
My only little addiction is I love to drink rooibos tea, and I like this with milk. So I have substituted soya milk. That's a first for me. I hope I don't have to give that up, if so I will I guess. Or reduce the amount.
So looking at my good points, I have no problems with any of the healthy foods, and I am not addicted to salts, sugar or anything. I can even eat raw Brussels sprouts and kale. I am not craving any bad foods at the mo. I am now eating full portions when I do eat, and having read the book, the importance of fasting between meals (in the sense of not snacking) has now become apparent, so I am doing it. I am also taking exercise, using home equipment while listening to audio files from this website. Just the right length too, 40 or 50 mins.
Yesterday I ony had breakfast and lunch. I didn't feel like an evening meal, I was not hungry, so I didn't eat. In the morning I was up for a few hours and only felt a bit peckish at 10am, so I ate then, fruit and salad.
So I will probably do a slight variation on this. I will eat as much as I can and eat the right thing at meal times, in simple form. I will drink rooibos tea now and then with soya milk. I'll build up an appetite and have a meal rather then snack.
My goals are to live healthily till 100 plus and get down to my correct weight, whatever that may be.
