Re: Kale, and locally grown / seasonal food

Again, thanks for the link!

And yes, it DID look good.

I was pretty excited to hear that even when cooking vegetables, and losing some of the nutrients, that the water was tested and found that the nutrients were still in the water. So that vegetable "broth" is an excellent source to consume, then the idea of blending up the cooked veggies, to put back into the soup or use as a base, was just awesome. I never thought of doing that. I have never cared for onions, bell peppers, or celery, but to use them blended as a base or boiled in water for broth, i believe would be excellent.

One of my favorites is collard greens. I also enjoy mustard and turnip greens equally. Cooked with a little pepper and other seasonings, and a splash of vinegar, yum!

Did you watch the video about which diet was the healthiest? That really had me drawn. There was a bit of difference in opinion on the panel of doctors, but I could see where each was coming from. Very interesting. I did subscribe to Dr Furhmans channel, along with a couple others. Great great info.

Day 5 here, and i feel really good, and all this info I am taking in is very very eye opening. I just can't seem to get enough! I feel like a sponge right now, and am absorbing as much as I can.

Last night turned a little stressful, kids have been out of school due to weather nearly all week, and so has the ole man. So it seems like I am getting a bit tense having everyone constantly around me. Two kids 2 dogs and my live in, and someone always is calling me... "Mom! Mom! Jackie! Jackie!" ergh!

I snapped a little last night when I was in a somewhat heated argument with my daughter over her attitude problem she was having at the minute and my BF asked if i would make him some popcorn, I believe my head spun around on my shoulders as i yelled "Make it your damn self!"

lol. I quickly retreated to a shower and promptly went to bed.
