One thing that I would like to stress to everyone: a vegetarian diet is desirable and commendable to those who aspire to it, but I would like to add that in the absence of cold-water oily fish within the diet, there remains the problem of not consuming the omega3 essential-fatty-acids.
I would strongly recommend the daily consumption of a high quality flax seed oil to compensate for this potential deficiency for anyone who is vegetarian or vegan.
I believe there is a consensus of opinion on this from nutritionists generally.
Omega3's are essential for Brain health and other vital nutritional benefits for good health: that is why they are called "essential".
