I agree, see my comments to Wendy above. I don't know how others feel, but I never read long personal accounts, unless they captivate me in the first few lines.

Just had a quick read, the two anonymous posters initially seemed to make valid points early on, but one got a little angry later unfortunately. Neither of them asked the original poster to stop posting, just to stop posting personal stuff.

Maybe a solution is to have another FAQ answer to "HOW DO I CREATE A JOURNAL ON THIS SITE TO KEEP TRACK OF MY PROGRESS?" See

The current answer is by hopinso from 8 months ago and says "You can write as often as you wish and will be able to edit it." but doesn't give any guidance as to what should or shouldn't go in it. Interestingly though lulu comments "there has only been one message given recommended in the last few months and that was off-topic on how to create a blog...go figure!"

Anyone can answer the FAQs, and anyone agree or disagree with the answers. Perhaps this is the place to put your self esteem message Willow.

I myself have spoken about personal issues, but always they have been positive, for example getting a diving medical after many years of being overweight, thought it's not often I do that. I think people like that sort of thing, but I think they get fed up with reading constantly sad stories. I really couldn't imagine posting sad stories, UNLESS I was asking support on how to resolve, and then I might choose a different forum anyway, and perhaps post anonymously.

I have asked a question on the Webmaster Debate Forum about this.
