Re: I am NOT fasting anymore until..
Well the article did mention ED's (or Anorexia Nervosa) which there is a gray area because someone who has an ED and is reading that (since its in that forum) could infer that taking a vitamin will help since the article did go into not only Anorexia (or Postprandial Anorexia) and Anorexia Nervosa) I think the article would have been more sound if it didn't even mention Eating Disorders then, but that's just how I viewed it.
Taken from the article:
"Many years ago, an emaciated, teenage girl was made to come to see me by her worried parents because of her revulsion against food. She admitted that she hardly ate anything, but explained that she felt that she was fat: a typical case of anorexia nervosa. I tried to persuade her to eat right. She adamantly refused. So I made a deal with her. I pointed out that by not eating she was making herself malnourished with respect to vitamins. The deal was that I would not pester her to eat if she would take vitamin pills, specifically vitamin C and B-complex vitamins. She agreed. Two weeks later she and her parents returned to tell me that she had developed a strong appetite. After another month, her emaciation was clearly disappearing. She never became anorexic again."
I'm not sure how the said girl had the typical" (which is a very flippant way to describe a complicated disorder btw) eating Disorder Anorexia Nervosa and just because she started eating again she was never anorexic? as Anorexia (in this case loss of appetite) and not eating is merely a by-product of the psychological disorder ie Anorexia Nervosa with several complications specifically mental (OCD, Depression, Neuroticism to name a few), but I digress, this would go back to my stance in how someone could read this and assume they could cure their ED simply by a vitamin. Perhaps she just had Postprandial Anorexia (ie starving/malnourishment due to
Depression and whining she was 'fat' and finally ate and tada! cured of her supposed typical 'anorexia nervosa'. Who knows.. I'm just saying there are several holes in that article.
I also think it should be more clarified then with 'Anorexia' (even though nowadays most people use that alone across the board with mentioning an ED) vs Anorexia Nervosa, especially when posting it on forum specifically for Anorexia/Bulimia Nervosa, since the two are not the same in one and no one will use the term Anorexia there unless its specifically an ED, not just a loss of appetite, and someone who is there for anorexia due to an ED would get confused as someone can get 'anorexia' or Postprandial Anorexia used by us in the medical field and not have an ED but instead can be depressed, have terminal diseases etc, then perhaps the argument with the vitamin deficiency can be argued.
Also about the EFT, Like I said, I don't know how it 'works', but you can't throw around words like Chinese Medicine, Meridians, Acupuncture etc and not really even use them properly. It takes several years (not just some small training or a dvd like I have seen online) to study Oriental Medicine, just like traditional Medicine, and shouldn't be taken lightly. But more power to whomever overcomes their issues with any medium.
