Yes, I am positive about OH being a free radical. In fact it is considered one of the strongest of the free radicals. Here are some links.

I don't buy in to the alkalinity testing, especially with pH test strips on saliva or urine. I just don't feel that they are anywhere near accurate in determining pH within the body. What a lot of people do not realize is that the body has NUMEROUS ways to maintain proper pH, including breathing.
Saliva pH can be altered by various factors like what you recently ate or drank, and not by what the blood pH is. If you
Sugar remaining on your teeth when you take the pH test for example the bacteria in the mouth could be creating the acid from the action on the sugars. Dry mouth also decreases mouth pH.
Urinary pH can also be altered through various mechanisms, and again this does not reflect on blood pH.
The only way to get an accurate blood pH is with a blood test. And even with that it only shows you the pH for that moment.
