Re: Stomach and throat from hell

I know you say you don't believe in GERD, but there are possibilities surrounding it. I used to feel like I was going to throw up many times a day. I blamed it on the fact that I had mono when I was younger and the problems were just because I was tired. My friend scared me enough to get me to go to a doctor. She said her brother had the same problem and ended up having a tumor that didn't allow the sphincter between the esophagus and stomach to close, therefore allowing the stomach acid into the throat. My doctor immediately sent me to a gastroentologist when I told him my symptoms. I had an endoscopy (send a camera down your throat to look at esoph. and stomach) done. It turns out I had barretts esophagus. This is when the esophagus lining is "worn away" by stomach acid, causing the stomach lining to extend into the esoph. It is precancerous, and I have had to continue to get the scopes done. My sphincter between the esoph. and stomach is weak and has problems staying closed tight. I have actually been on prilosec since 1995. If I forget to take it in the morning, I can tell in the afternoon, because I get that familiar acidy throat feeling like before you are going to throw up.

It could be other problems, but the throat and stomach issues you describe sound to be similar to symptoms I had. Before starting theh scopes and prilosec, I regularly had strept throat and lost my voice twice a year. I haven't had it since. Alcohol creates a lot of stomach acid, so that could have been what kick started yours. Tobacco is the worst for stomach acid, so if you or anyone around you smokes, that will make it worse. You said you've tried antacids and other medications like that, but have you tried prilosec? If not, give it a try. You can get it over the counter, so it would be worth a shot to try it for a little bit. When I first started taking it --- maybe for the first 6 months to a year -- I had to take it twice a day until my esophagus healed some. Now I take it once a day mostly. Occasionally I do have to take it twice. That happens maybe 2 times or so a month. Plus, my insurance now covers it for twice a day, so I had my doctor write the prescriiption for that. I get 60 pills a month for only $5 -- actually get 3 months worth of that for $5 for using my insurance's mail order.

The tongue thing does sound like candida. Humaworm helps with that a lot. There is another product I have found that is absolutely great for it. It is called Candida Cleanse by Rainbow Light. I just saw it on Amazon for $29 for 120 tablets. When I take it, I usually take 2 a day, so the bottle will last 2 months. It does have a couple of ingredients in it that Humaworm has, so be careful with that.
