I had bladder infections for years. Went through the rotating door at the doctors office for a while because it would move up into my kidney and give me a backache and fever if I didn't take something for it. Eventually I saw a naturopath who recommended thyme tea. A strong cup of hot thyme tea with a dash of lemon a couple times a day worked great for me. Eventually I only needed one cup per day. And then I only needed a cup every once in a while. If I felt urgency and burning afterwards, I'd drink a cup of tea immediately, and the residual pain was gone in minutes. I haven't needed a cup of thyme tea in years now. Knowing what I know now, I'd probably make capsules and chug a glass of water if I needed thyme now because I never did develop a taste for it, although it wasn't bad when I was in pain.
I liked lemon thyme the best. It is not bad if you make a quart and put in the fridge to sip on all day.
