Re: Thank you Paint Lady

You know the Atkins people say you will no longer have cravings and after a couple of weeks on it almost all of mine went away. Except for chocolate. I still have times when I crave it. I did find after being on it a year that when I broke it sweet things tasted disgusting to me. Especially pop. One of the reasons my husbands weight got so high is that he was misdiagnosed for over 9 months. It was much too high anyway but he put on about 50 pounds in that year. They thought he had a knee problem it turned out that three of his vertebra were crushed. He was almost paralized and even fell in front of a car on the side of the highway when his leg gave out once. Anyway his weight got a lot worse when he could no longer move around like he was used to so I understand how your physical problems might be stacking up against you.

I would definetly suspect parasites if the craveings are still present when on the diet. And it could be that you just need to do all the cleanses. Your body might be way out of balance. Dr. Clark has a very interesting section in her book about the reasons we crave certain foods. I can't say for sure she is right but it sure made sence to me. I wouldn't be here reading these posts and doing flushes and cleanses if I thought the Atkins diet had all the answers. I just think it's good for the heart for those of us at risk and has the secondary benefit of lowering weight.

Take care,
Lisa
