Re: It takes one to know one!!
Fortunately for me drugs were never suggested.
It was just counseling. That was plenty destructive in itself.
It was after a bad marriage ended, and looking back I was actually fine, it just was difficult which should be expected in that situation.
But life definitely took a turn for the worse once counseling commenced.
There are many things that are done with counseling that are destructive starting with getting you convinced that you are screwed up and that you need to spend a lifetime overcoming your "disease".
There are a number of factors involved with that type of counseling which are not good.
I won't list them but I can tell you that that it basically introverts a person which is the opposite of what you want and they'll tell you how and what to think or basically take over your thinking process for you which isn't good, - the opposite of what you want, and basically its a general interference in ones life.
This is based on psychiatry/psychology being inexact sciences.
More accurately they're not based on any
Science which is the real problem, which leaves the practitioner with inexact tools.
Basically they don't know what they're doing. If they understood really what they were doing they wouldn't do it.
So if you have the drugs and the counseling combined you have a mess and there are plenty of people around that are dealing with the aftermath of such involvements.
