Re: Glutathione deficiency & autoimmune diseases, viruses,
Sometimes, things don't make sense until you are in a different place- maybe it's just not the right time or something..when the Alt Med Dr mentioned the detox pathways..I didn't know what he was talking about--I've learned alot researching it. I hope San Sucre comes back to post too, some of the stuff I originally started reading about the detox pathways had been posted by her/him.
Also, Blackandgold mentioned the liver detox tests several months back on Dr Sutter's forum..and I didn't know what he had meant then either.
I would bet there are alot of people with liver detox pathway problems with candida/liver/parasite/leaky gut/bowel problems.
I'm glad I have a good Alt Med Dr too...he told me when people don't get the detox pathways working as they should--and try to dump heavy metals etc..they can really get into worse problems. Now I understand.
I also understand why the parasites/candida etc can continue to thrive if the liver is backing up and not functioning as it should.
There's alot to learn, but there's plenty of information to be found.
One interesting side note: I had 1/2 a bottle of Livatone Plus left (Dr Sandra Cabot, the Liver Dr), and had put it aside. I do 2
Liver Flushes a month, the week prior to the Full Moon, and the week prior to the New Moon (to clear stuff out to better hit
parasites that are supposed to be most active then--distracted and better able to be killed--and it works!)
A few months ago, I decided to start taking the Livatone Plus, and it was about a week before I was going to
Liver Flush (I like the coke flush, it's never made me sick and it works well, but I still use the
Epsom Salts too- and
Liver Flushing is also part of the Dr's protocal)
I had gone longer than normal between flushes, it had been one month- and I was so surprised when I did flush, to get a bunch of large green stones out of the liver (no gallbladder), and I could feel it wasn't done dumping yet, so I did another flush the next night..and the next night...apparently, the Livatone Plus had opened something up to dump a bunch of stones that had accumulated, because I got piles of large, green stones out of the liver that week...I was very surprised. That was just a few months ago. I'll know more when the test results come back, but I believe the phase 1 pathway was doing it's job of liquifying the toxins (including caffeine :( and the phase 2 pathway not working right, didn't do the methylation/elimination job it's supposed to. I also have found out the phenolics/salicylates are problems for me, and when the detox pathways aren't working right (namely glycine and sulphate) they back up as toxins in the liver. (Fruits, vegetables, herbs--the "good chemicals" normally, I've since started on an enzyme specific for them, No Fenol.)
I had also been taking the L-taurine, NAC (n-acetyl-l-cysteine) from Nutricology, that also has Trimethylglycine (TMG) which is needed for the liver detox, plus L-glutamine, and NAG (N-acetyl-glucosamine) which is also a form of L-glutamine; lecithin, vitamin C, and the Dr's own vitamin/mineral supplement he has made up that has the selenium, moly, B vitamins, E etc.
All of that stuff is already in the Livatone Plus...little did I understand that before.
The other thing that has helped is when the Dr had me just do a one month total body detox, 3 meal replacements per day had whey protein/amino acids, and 3x a day, HCL (betaine) and a HCL activator (which I've now read is for methylation and aids in detox)
http://phpure.com/nutrition_products/hcl_activator.htm
I also didn't know before that trimethylglycine (TMG) is betaine.
I'm not holding my breath, but I had the first stone free
Liver Flush last week, and I've been doing them regularly for a year. I have been able to feel the liver start backing up right after liver flushing, and have had to do regular flushes because of feeling the stones in there.
BUT, one other thing I'm sure has helped...was doing more of the Clark mop up for ascaris/tapeworm clean up- which I've done before and it works well..at that time I had too many large
parasites still, it couldn't be considered "clean up" but it sure killed things. The lightly ozonated olive oil that is supposed to be used for it, I purchase it out of Canada
http://www.ozonatedoilonline.com
and he won't ship it during the summer months because he ships it frozen. So I used the 3,000 mg of coq10, and 1,000 mg of L-cysteine 3x a day with 1 TB of coconut oil 2x a day instead. I killed 4 dwarf
Tapeworms after the first day of using it- (they live in the bile duct). During the last Full Moon, I took another dose of the 3,000 mg of coq10, and L-cysteine, along with the herbals/homeopathics the Dr has me on too-- and killed another dwarf tapeworm, and I also got the "rolled up tomato skin flukes" that I haven't seen for months now.
So, killing
parasites in the liver IS crucial to this too. A sick liver is the perfect place for them to live...but continuing to let them live in there, doesn't allow the liver the chance to be able to get healthy either.
I'm still working on it--I AM going to get my liver healthy, darn it- but yes, there is alot more to learn that I was aware of--and it helps put the pieces of the puzzle together when the light bulb goes off and you understand it better.
