Re: The Superfood Story (as I know it/guess it) Re: How do you do an herbal fomentation?

I've never experimented with the active yeasts myself...but my 'inner voice' tells me alive is always better than dead...so you're probably 'listening' correctly (assuming you don't have any 'yeast issues', of course)

I use this yeast for the Superfood blends I make/offer:

>>>NON-Active Saccharomyces cerevisiae Nutritional Yeast. This yeast is grown on beets and pure molasses. It is the second highest source of complete protein in nature, (50%), and the richest source of B Vitamins. It is also a rich source of iron and many other minerals. The yeast we choose is heated high enough to absolutely destroy any yeast activity, but not high enough to lessen the B Vitamin content. It is totally NON active and safe for patients with candida albicans or on yeast-free diets.<<<

When folks are following the IP, then suggest they need the exact Superfood that Schulze made/used in his clinic that he had such success using; I use it personally because it's proven to be really effective and because my body loves it (but, like I mentioned, I use less yeast because I'm getting B's & protein from eggs, dairy & meat...although that's primarily eggs with us now). We have meat a couple-three times a month maybe (almost always venison), and our dairy selections are limited to raw milk cheese and an occasional gallon of pasteurized organic milk or some occasional organic parmesan/romano/feta/mozarella -also pasteurized :( (in Iowa, raw milk is *seriously* illegal - sellers have been persecuted for even SENDING it to Iowa. grrrrr). And since I'm no longer a 'pasteurized kinda gal', it just makes me cringe to drink it or have a bowl of cereal...even tho I love it.
