Re: Calcium Allergy
Hi 10 - Don't get me wrong--I completely believe that you are feeling the symptoms that you describe when you ingest calcium. Trust me--I have plenty of weird symptoms going on all the time and know better than to doubt what you say is the truth but I do agree that regular MDs are skeptical of those with symptoms that they don't understand--to hell with them!
I find it interesting that you feel better on nystatin. Although, from what I understand, if you are trying to kill systemic fungus, 10 days on nystatin will not be enough, and no traditional western-med practicing doctor will give you antifungals, unless they see it on the outside of you, like fungal toenails. My environ. doc has me on 2 months of ketaconazole and we didn't even see yeast on the results from my recent GI panel--he said sometimes, like 5% of the time it won't show up on test results (although it did show big time about 4 years back on one of my panels).
While I don't believe in NAET--although I do have friend who just decided give it a whirl one more time, so I am trying to keep my mind open--I believe in homeopathy, so you may be onto something there and it certainly couldn't hurt.
Where would you find an E. doctor? Well, you could start by contacting the American Board of Environmental Medicine. Unfortunately I would not know if you need a referal or not--that's an insurance question and you would need to first find a doctor in your area and then contact your insurance and ask them if you need a referral from your referring physician, if in fact you have one. I went on the board's website (link below) and their list of docs throughout the states is under construction, but you can email them and just ask for doctors in your state. If that doesn't work out you could call my doctor's office and ask if they know someone in your area. Let me know if you want that info.
