Hi 10--Ok - so I saw my allergy doc today and I asked him if it was possible for a person to be allergic to calcium and he at first said no, and then he himmed and hawed and then said it would be rare, and then again he said no and that it was likely something else that you were reacting to. I wish I had a better answer for you. I do still think it is strange that you are getting a metalic taste from it --among the other symptoms, and I am not so sure--regardless of your hair analysis, that you don't have heavy metal poisoning and when you ingest calcium your body releases metals and they flood your system. Have you made any progress on trying to figure out what's going on? This may be far fetched, but another thought I had was that if your body already has too much calcium (for whatever reason) and you ingest even more, it further offsets some mineral you are short on already, such as magnesium or potassium, which you may be severely lacking. I think mag deficiency can cause the symptoms you are talking about. I'm pretty sure that if you could find an environmental med. doc he or she could help you figure out this mystery. In the meantime - hang in there friend.
