The government dumped corn in the 90's on Mexico at below market prices. The small farmers in Mexico were driven off of their farms as they could not compete against almost free corn. It was a strategy to drive the poor into factories. $1 was too much to pay for an hour of labor for the Corporations so they moved to Asia where they could pay 10-15 cents an hour. Now where do the unemployed Mexican believe they should go to survive?
